Destruction
So I just finished spray painting the base and rim of my globe. When I started typing this, I looked down and realized that i got spray paint all over my dads computer. Then i had to get some acetone to clean it off, and now the computer reeks of it. Glad my dads not home... But anyway. I started on my shocking art piece today. But starting it got off on a rough note. I drove to home depot to get some spray paint. Turns out you have to be 18 to buy spray paint (most dumb rule ever). So then i went to tap plastics to get a tube, which i was originally planning on being red, but they didnt have it in the width that i wanted. So my tube is now clear. But after all of that nonsense, im glad it happened because it made my project change, for the better. It was originally going to be a globe with a tube stuck through it. At the end of the tube was going to be the word hate. But after starting my project and thinking it through a bit more, I have decided that im going to spray the globe grey and the word is now destruction. I was considering red, but i feel like the color would be too literal and distracting. I choose grey to represent ash. There is going to be a small light underneath the tube, to light up the word destruction. I also feel soo sick which is a total bummer because the first football game it tonight. But thankfully yogurt is making me feel a bit better. My sister is the one in the picture. She helped me paint the rim of the globe.

Retreat
I loved the retreat! The guest artist was so cool. I loved her style of pots and painting (even though she denied that fact that she was an amazing painter). I really connected with what she spoke about... How she said that you don't have to be original and think of something totally new. You just take what you know and love to do, and put your own spin on it. That really applied to me because this summer I was thinking about how i have to think of something new and fresh, when really I shoud do what I love. I also loved the work time after. I made a oil burner thing, which I'm pumped to use! I also got to know our group better. I was never quiet or shy around them in the first place. But I just got to know everybody better. BOB IT WAS AMAZING. When I got home, I actually invested in a quality Bop It myself. The food was muy bien. The natre art was fun. My fist one didnt fit the project requierments, so I made another. I actually ended up really likeing the final result, a stump with sticks coming out of it. The reteat made me even more exited for this year! Oh and the Last Unicorn was an experience...
Im obviously not a blogger.
Why in the in the heck is this blog so complicated? Well soon i will be putting up some pictures of my art! hopefully very soon. But yesterday i threw 10 plates and im planning on woodfiring them (which i have never done). We had summer weather for the retreat which was awsome! But know its pouring. Gross. Well after this i will be posting my reflections on the retreat.
