The End is Near

This year is going by soooo fast! The art show is over. Now im just working on stuff for my family. I glazed the five soup bowls for my fam and made my dad four cappichino w/saucers. We are having a guest artist named pat come in next wednesday. I'm pumped! I just cant believe that im almost a senior. Oh and i got a double nose piercing. Life is good.

ART SHOW!

Tommorow is the art show! I'm exited and I hope my stuff sells (although I'm not counting on it). I am also DONE! I have all my stuff photographed and edited. Here is some of it!

Bowls

I have never made soup bowls before, and now i have. Its quite exiting... really it is. Beside those, i made a bunch of vases. and next week is the ap art show!!! i need to write my artist statement.

Well...beans

I have been working on making vases. Here are two that i just threw. Also i glazed my round sauce dish, but the glaze turned out really weird. I havent decided if i like it or not. It is the glazed peice in the picture. I glazed alot of my work and photographed it but the computer deleted it! So now i need to go re-photograph all that stuff. Im just chuggin along.

Moving On

Well... IM DONE WITH MY CONCENTRATION! wooooh! Its exiting... it really is. I need to finish glazing and photographing my stuff, but everything is at least at bisque. I am also done with my breadth section. So now, I get to just do whatever i want. There is going to be a salt firing sometime in the future, so I want to make a bunch of cups and small things. Lately, I have been making mugs. I want to make a set of tea bowls and a few pitchers. I also want to make some lidded containers, for sugar and whatnot. I like these tea bowls.

Photographing

I have been working on photographing all my pieces. I need to register for the ap studio art thing online.... i have been putting that off for a while now. I am almost done with my concentration pieces. I just need to wood fire alot of them, so im just waiting for that. I quit lacrosse, so now i have more time for music and art! hurrah for being a slacker.

New

So I have been trying new styles of my dishes. I threw this salsa bowl and chip thing a few days ago. I also have been making some mugs and cup holders. I need to photograph my stuff. I also really want to do a salt firing!

Business

Wow my life is so busy. Ski team is ending and lacrosse is starting up. Porfolios are coming up. But im soooo bummed. We were going to have a wood firing next weekend.... and now we are not. I had all my stuff ready to go. i finally made a lidded casserole. I did not like making it. but yet it looks good. oh dear...

New Ideas

 All i have been doing lately are the same looking casserole dishes. So this week i have been working on pieces that have the same idea, but look different. And this week Whitney told us that there is a wood firing at the end of the month. Im so exited! I have so many peices that need to be fired, so at least half of my peices will (hopefully) being in this upcoming firing. I am now taking advanced ceramics. This is my first time ever taking that class.

Nonesuch

Well i just made a awesome new dish that has pull out peices. I am going to add some texture and im exited to see how it turns out! My next peice that i want to work on is a lidded dish. With very rounds sides and some sort of round and knobish handles. My set of casserole dishes are fired. One of the pieces has weakish handles, so that one will just occupy the shelf. I really need to start up on glazing and photographing. Time is just flying by. Between all the song writing and such with Rhombii, skiing, and school, I dont have the much free time. Here are some new ideas that i wanna tryout.

Back From Break

Getting back into art, from winter break, is tough but im starting to get back into the flow of things. We have three projects due at the end of the month! I threw a bowl today that i am going to add texture too. I threw it thicker than normal so i can carve into it. also my square casserole dish was fired. I need to start making lids, but i have never done it before, so it will be a challenge.
